Assistant Manager Raw Material Procurement (Female) For Chemical Manufacturing Industry.


Roles and Responsibilities


  • Timely Procurement of required quality raw material at competitive price.
  • Timely preparation & submission for approval of Purchase Plan, Enquiry, Comparative & Purchase Order
  • Negotiate & finalized the orders as per delegation and submit for approval.
  • Follow up for Timely delivery,
  • Quality Issues, rejection returns, shortage etc.. of assigned items
  • Develop alternate vendors / substitute input for price & quality betterment by:-Collecting primary & secondary information about credibility, reliability of Vendor from Internal & External sources etc. -Sample testing, Trial Order -Commercial Order,
  • Vendor registration Updation of approved vendor list by inclusion & deletion of vendors as per their performance on yearly basis.

- Negotiating rates with suppliers on the basis of basic raw material cost of pigment, consumption planing of pigments on the basis of cost matrix, arranging placement of trucks, monitoring & maintaining stock levels, quality review with suppliers and user department.

Negotiating with suppliers of charcoal for cost competetiveness, planning despatches with various suppliers of different states to have timely and quality supplies, maintain stocks levels in line to the consumption, ensuring timely payment for smooth supplies


Negotiating rates with suppliers on the basis of basic raw material cost of additive and finishes placement of trucks, monitoring & maintaining stock levels, quality review with suppliers and user department

- Negotiating rates with suppliers on the basis of basic raw material cost of ETP items, placement of trucks, monitoring & maintaining stock levels, quality review with suppliers and user department


- Planning for imported items e.g. HONOL 5204, HONOL GA & MGR, PROPYL GALLATE, AFILAN V, CR 2000 etcand correspondence with suppliers to have timely and quality supplies, maintain stocks levels in line to the consumption, clearing payment of imported cargo to clear consignment through CHA, truck placement for lifting the consignment.


- Initiating to develop new suppliers for existing pigments, sharing samples with other suppliers to have better cost economy.


Negotiating freight rates of all raw material on annual basis, doing contracts for raw material as well as MMD with transporters for the Manufacturing unit. Revising freight timely as per contract terms.

  • Maintaining Inventory at optimum level so as to achieve Cost effectiveness.
  • Appropriate planning & scheduling of materials.

Continuous monitoring of stock levels & follow up with supplier.

  • Co-ordinating timely transportation contract for cost effectiveness.
  • Sending enquires and getting quotations for renewal of contract as wellas for cost of all items
  • Make comparative, negotiate and submit for approval.

  • Timely preparation of MIS & other reports for better monitoring / business decisions
  • Rate Master updation
  • Cost comparison
